As part of a school project I spent a day in Hollywood walking around visiting many places. I was advised to take the Los Angeles Metro system Redline subway from North Hollywood into Hollywood because parking is hard to find and expensive, I saw most parking lots around $7. Taking the Redline only cost $3 for a day pass and parking was free at the North Hollywood station. The first stop was at the Hollywood and Highland station where the Kodak Theater and the Grumman's Chinese Theater are located. This area is very busy and filled with tourists from around the world. This is where you can find the footprints in the sidewalk and tons of people walking around in costumes of celebrities, as well as some street performers. It took some time to walk around the entire Hollywood and Highland Complex its a pretty nice place, and there is a spot on the upper levels that gives you a nice view of the Hollywood sign. If you are really up for some touristy type activities there are guided bus tours that leave from here. I passed on those since I am kind of a local, being from the L.A. area. After walking around the Kodak theater I decided to walk down Hollywood Blvd. and check out the walk of stars to see what stars i recognized, the walk was not as fun as it could have been because it started to rain off and on the rest of the day. There are tons of great looking places to eat along the way, I choose to eat lunch at Skooby's Hot Dogs. I took a couple detours down some of the other streets and found Amoeba Records on Sunset Blvd. If you like music you need to go there, it is a massive music store!  I walked about a mile until I got to the Pantages Theater, right across the street was the Hollywood and Vine station of the redline. So it was back onboard the subway to get back to my car.
